When Klarna challenged us to break into the young, football-loving, British community, we went at the controversial VAR (Video Assistant Referee) about to debut in the English Premiere League. With Klarna’s “pay later” feature you’re always guaranteed to make the right shopping decision... just like VAR. So we partnered with a custom football kit designer Angelo Trofa and made a tongue-in-cheek “pro VAR” shirt for heated debates on social as the season started. We then sent it around to UK football influencers and fans in a custom box that opened into a VAR review screen for some authentic content in the footy community. Decision: Smoooth
